For a long time I have been thinking about getting this for my LA's GD-7F.

Any users? :side:

I think it would increase my survival behind enemy lines, as many times you shoot from weird places with the LA and don't want to get spotted.

Do you think it severely affects the damage or dropoff at ranges that you usually engage combat in?

I mostly use LA in techplants/biolabs, so usually the engagement range is like 20-80m there..

lo Jack. yeah i always have a suppressor on my GD7F. Pretty much for exactly the reason you mentioned. I'm frequently hiding above people, so the last thing i need is for my position to be advertised by a red dot. Because the GD7F is a close quarters weapon the distance damage drop off that comes with the suppressor is meaningless, and by FAR the biggest benefit of the supressor is the fact that enemies can't distinguish the noise of it firing from their own silenced weapons- case in point, i often jetpack down to enemy sunderers and literally stand amongst the enemies spawning- the last thing any of them expect is an enemy right there. I'll stand there shooting sporadically, getting usually at least 5 kills before anyone cottons to the fact that i'm there. If i didn't have a silenced weapon, i'd be unable to do that. (this cunning plan only works with a camo that closely matches one of their own camos)

I think I'm underestimating the power of the silencer.

I never perceived being hidden on the map in a close range scenario is a big benefit as I'm usually highly mobile anyway.. might reconsider and spend those 100 certs.

So many stuff I want, so little certs :(

the gd-7f sprays ammo like mad, so i'd spend a few certs in the ammunition belt first. You will take more ttk for the suppression and that means you'll need a hell of a lot more bullets, particularly for a gun that empties out clips like crazy. Most people rarely notice when you're on top of the tower anyway. You have to remember its not like COD where you can see enemies based on killcam, so generally you'll get more kills anyway.

I got the suppressor for 100 certs for the GD-7F and I like it when fighting close. I was sitting on Crossroads Watchtower for extended amounts of time and had to resort to using my knife because I lived long enough to spend all my ammo. It was rather hilarious.

I didn't expect the suppressor to perform that well in terms of not giving away my position. In medium range fights I lost more often vs. my standard loadout without suppressor due to less damage and slower bullets (my mistake for not adjusting my aim properly).

I looked into the ammo belt and it's definitely a reasonable thing to get for certs, however it would replace the Adrenaline Pump, and I don't leave home without that, ever - so it's not for me personally.

Definitely get it, they'e great if you can get behind enemy lines but ammunition becomes scarce quite quickly.

Yeah, that's why you always stalk enemy engineers for an extended period? ;D
