I only got a couple of hours of play on Sunday night, so haven't really seen all the new patch has to offer. Stuff I liked...

  • - HUD updates - being able to tell squads apart is now easy!
  • - UI changes - in the character/equipment sections, much easier to upgrade and move around
  • - None of my equipment nerfed! YAY!
  • - Tunnels at Tech/Bio lab - I can see these being useful but confused the life out of me
  • - XP changes on killing newbs - hasn't stopped spawn camping but makes it less profitable

The one thing I was expecting but didn't see (because we were rocking on Sunday) was XP for defense. I can't find it in the patch notes, so am not sure if it is there. Anyone know?

What do you like/hate about the update?
My low K/D is not because I'm a shit player, it's because I'm a shit medic.

It was OK I guess. The patch didn't make any gameplay changes at all. The game is still an arcade-type shooter where the main goal is exp/certs. Loosing doesn't cost you nothing, winning is not giving you anything. The game has a huge potential of becoming an awesome tactical/teamwork shooter, but there was no trace of this in the patch. I just hope the game won't turn into large scale CoD for 10 year olds.

The spawn camp nerf was a bit annoying im always dropping bettys at the spawn doors but now you only get 25 xp its not really worth it. The Tower changes are not really necessary and i keep getting lost in them.

As for the re-design on spawn areas, the new spawn doors has only really made it easier to get free kills from inside the room. On a positive note though its a lot easier to break a liberator lock, its possible to shoot them from the roof of the spawn areas with relative safety, if they have overwhelming force you are still going to get farmed, but that is to be expected.

SMGs. Not.

Was really expecting more from them but I guess it pushed me further into shotties - not bad in its own right, I reckon. Spawn rooms are lovely, as well as the increased rotary mag.. Yummeh!

It felt mostly cosmetic to me, I could have done without the changes with little complaint, though the spawn room change is definitely one thing I'm glad for. The tunnels are okay though I felt it was unnecessary, given the amount of other changes made to big bases. I still haven't used them, so we'll see in a week if it's actually useful.

The de-emphasizing of the k/d ratio on the scoreboard was also another thing I've been waiting for or a while. It kind of shows how much people want a proper team-based shooter. Hopefully we'll have more team-based changes in the future, i.e. improved outfit UI(like Last Online status) or further improvements for the infiltrator role.
